Black Bars either side of picture - letterbox

Can someone please help, I've tried everthing, no matter what I change in the Settings file I still have black bars either side of the picture, does anyone PLEASE know the solution for this or the cause of my problem.

Sorry, what other info do you need?
System 4.2E
Wii set to widescreen (tried normal)
Tried changing 'widescreen' in Settings.cnf to yes
Tried changing the ratio in Settings.cnf to various settings
ummm....
Please excuse my ignorance I'm not sure what other info is needed?

Well,
TV format and aspect ratio ?
Connection cable type ?
GeeXboX for Wii version ?
Black bars on GeeXboX boot splash screen ?
What happens if aspect ratio is set to 2.39:1 etc. from GUI menu ?
What happens if WIDE=yes ?
